Dr. Katerina Montagnaro, VMD

Dr. MontagnaroMy interest in veterinary medicine started at a young age as I grew up on my parents farm. There, I was exposed to a variety of species and quickly realized that I wanted to help animals in some way. It wasn't until my sweet tuxedo kitty, Espresso, became sick with panleukopenia and was hospitalized for 1 week that I decided to attend veterinary school.

After graduating with my Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Pennsylvania, I completed my veterinary internship at Oradell Animal Hospital, one of the largest specialty practices in the Northeast. While I enjoy all aspects of veterinary care, I have a keen interest in surgery and internal medicine. I relocated to New York City in August of 2016 and became a member of the Worth Street Vet family shortly thereafter. It was Worth Street’s philosophy of utilizing integrative medicine to create a comprehensive treatment plan for our patients that drew me to the practice. The most rewarding aspect of my job is being able to form relationships with both my patients and their families. Nothing is more satisfying than being able to heal a sick patient and give their families peace of mind knowing they are receiving the best possible care here at Worth Street Vet.

When I'm not attending to the medical needs of your four-legged family members, you can find me traveling to the beach, attending a sporting event, searching for a great new hiking spot or riding my horse Batman. I'm also a proud mom to two fur babies of my own: Theo, a laid-back corgi/lab mix and Espresso, a sweet tuxedo kitty who loves to cuddle.
