Alexandra Pietrzyk – DVM

Ashley Worth Street Veterinary

I grew up in sunny California with my parents, two sisters, and our beloved black lab mix, Balbina. Balbina’s impact on my life pushed me to reciprocate that feeling of love and respect to improve the lives’ of other animals. My passion for animal health also aligns with helping owners understand how to achieve and enjoy a long, healthy life with their furry family members. Naturally, that led to my interest in oncology; though I stayed on the west coast for my undergraduate and doctoral education at the University of California, Davis – I jumped at the chance to accept a rotating internship in NYC at Blue Pearl Veterinary Partners.  While at BPVP, I found it particularly rewarding to guide pet parents through a tough diagnosis and create a healthcare plan best suited to their needs. Working with pet owners allows me to actively participate in the improvement of pet’s lives; the ultimate reward.

Worth Street Veterinary Center stood out to me as they value exactly what I do and understand that pet health is directly, and importantly, connected to the pet parent.  It was clear to me I belonged in an environment with wagging tails and smiling faces, and I found that at WSVC.

I’ve found the east coast to be so mesmerizing. From its history to its landscapes, it’s just so different from the west coast. Luckily, I do not need to miss my San Francisco Bay area seafood as NYC has such great dishes to offer. You can usually find me exploring, eating, and laughing with my partner, his son, and my senior terrier mix, Pixie.
