Ashley Beard DVM
Growing up on a small farm in New Jersey, my love for animals and their care started at a young age. Originally interested in large animal medicine, I began working as a technician in a small animal clinic while pursuing my undergraduate degree, and quickly realized companion animal medicine was my passion. After completing my veterinary degree at Tufts University, I began to practice medicine in Jersey City, NJ. While there, I was able to further develop my surgical skills and management of a wide variety of medical cases. It also gave me the opportunity to work with several wonderful rescue organizations. Managing the more challenging cases that rescue work provided was always an exciting part of my routine.
I am delighted to be a part of the team at Worth Street Veterinary Center. Working here has enabled me to pursue all the things I love about veterinary medicine, like geriatric care and chronic pain control, while continuing to develop a progressive approach to case management. I truly love being a part of the relationship between pets and their families and the entire team here shares that philosophy. It allows us to make sure each pet’s individual needs are met in the best way possible.
When I’m not at the office, I enjoy spending time with my husband, Joe, and our three cats Linus, Rocket, and Bernard. We enjoy hiking in the Adirondacks, trying all the different food options NYC has to offer and traveling.
