Liz Anillionis VMD

My career in animal science was precipitated by a genuine love and compassion for all living creatures that harkens back to my teenage years when I became active in companion animal sheltering. What started out as training small animals and cleaning kennels in shelters eventually evolved into a career in veterinary medicine that I’ve proudly practiced for nearly 10 years…

Though I was raised in Huntington, NY, I received my Bachelor of Science Degree in General Biology from the University of Maryland in 2006. While there, I spent my inter-terms studying the animals and ecosystems of Belize and Australia and spent a semester abroad in Christchurch, New Zealand studying marine biology. I earned my Veterinary Medical Degree from the University of Pennsylvania in 2014 and was active in student organizations focused on animal behavior, the human-animal bond, and providing veterinary care to shelter and underserved pets.

I’m excited and proud to be part of the skilled team at Worth Street Veterinary Center where I can continue to cultivate my interest in behavioral medicine, preventative care, and soft tissue surgery. When I’m not working or caring for one of my many foster pups, you can find me watching my favorite animal movie, Born Free, or kayaking out east. I’m also scuba certified and enjoy hiking, boating upstate, and skiing in Vermont in the winter.
